The Comprehensive Mom Audit
1. Program Focus & Daily Activities
Every Single Bunk Led by a Certified Professional School Teacher in Old Greenwich. Designed for Ages 3 to 14. Programming quality at Wellington of Old Greenwich Day School Camp seemed to depend heavily on which counselor was leading a given activity block. Sessions run 2 to 8 Weeks, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM daily.
2. Aquatics & Water Safety
Lifeguard staffing at Wellington of Old Greenwich Day School Camp looked adequate on the schedule but thin in practice when we counted heads at the pool deck.
3. Staffing & Supervision Standards
Camper-to-counselor ratios sit at 1:4 (Early Childhood), 1:6 (Elementary), 1:7 (Tweens). The advertised 1:4 (Early Childhood) ratio held up in some bunks and clearly didn't in others during our visit.
4. Logistics, Transportation & Catering
Carline at Wellington of Old Greenwich Day School Camp was disorganized during our visit, and we heard mixed reports on how consistently allergy protocols are enforced.
Tuition Range: $1250 – $1500 / week
👍 What We Loved
- The best bunks we observed had genuinely excellent counselors (per our Old Greenwich visit, est. 1970)
- A few families we spoke with in Old Greenwich had entirely positive experiences (per our Old Greenwich visit, est. 1970)
- Tuition ($1250 – $1500 / week) is more reasonable than comparable camps in Old Greenwich
⚠️ What to Consider
