1. Program Focus & Daily Activities
Coast Guard Certified Skippers, Saltmarsh Ecology & Paddleboard Expeditions in Stamford. Designed for Ages 6 to 15. What Starboard Sailing & Marine Camp calls a curriculum looked, during our visit, more like improvisation. Sessions run 2 to 8 Weeks, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM daily.
2. Aquatics & Water Safety
Lifeguard coverage at Starboard Sailing & Marine Camp did not meet the ratio we'd consider acceptable for a group of this size in the water.
3. Staffing & Supervision Standards
Camper-to-counselor ratios sit at 1:4 (Boats), 1:6 (Shore Labs). Counselor turnover mid-season left multiple bunks without a consistent adult presence for stretches of the summer. (per our Stamford visit, est. 1970)
4. Logistics, Transportation & Catering
Transportation logistics at Starboard Sailing & Marine Camp were disorganized during our visit, with unclear communication about delays affecting Stamford routes.
Tuition Range: $1200 – $1450 / week
