The Comprehensive Mom Audit
1. Program Focus & Daily Activities
Daily Ring Lessons, Trail Riding & Poolside Relaxation in Southport. Designed for Ages 5 to 15. The equestrian & farm ecology programming has real bright spots, but the daily schedule felt inconsistently paced during our visit. (per our Southport visit, est. 2001) Sessions run 2 to 8 Weeks, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM daily.
2. Aquatics & Water Safety
Lifeguard staffing at Stallion Run Horseback Riding Academy looked adequate on the schedule but thin in practice when we counted heads at the pool deck.
3. Staffing & Supervision Standards
Camper-to-counselor ratios sit at 1:4 (Riding Ring), 1:6 (Farm Pods). Staff at Stallion Run Horseback Riding Academy lean young, and supervision quality depended heavily on which specific counselor was on duty.
4. Logistics, Transportation & Catering
Carline at Stallion Run Horseback Riding Academy was disorganized during our visit, and we heard mixed reports on how consistently allergy protocols are enforced.
Tuition Range: $1590 – $1840 / week
👍 What We Loved
- A core group of veteran counselors clearly cares about the kids (per our Southport visit, est. 2001)
- Facilities are adequate for Ages 5 to 15, even if not impressive
- When the 1:4 (Riding Ring) ratio held, supervision quality was genuinely good (per our Southport visit, est. 2001)
⚠️ What to Consider
- equestrian & farm ecology instruction quality varied noticeably week to week (per our Southport visit, est. 2001)
- The advertised 1:4 (Riding Ring) ratio didn't consistently hold up in practice (per our Southport visit, est. 2001)
- Facilities show uneven upkeep — some areas well-maintained, others neglected (per our Southport visit, est. 2001)
