1. Program Focus & Daily Activities
Traditional Athletics, Heated Pools & Wooded Summer Spirit in Tarrytown. Designed for Ages 3 to 14. The traditional & multi-sport programming we observed at Pinecrest Youth Academy didn't match what's advertised — activities felt under-planned and loosely supervised. Sessions run 2 to 8 Weeks, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM daily.
2. Aquatics & Water Safety
Pool was closed for repairs during part of our audit window with no clear parent communication about the closure. (per our Tarrytown visit, est. 1960)
3. Staffing & Supervision Standards
Camper-to-counselor ratios sit at 1:4 (Pre-K), 1:6 (Elementary), 1:8 (Tweens). We asked Pinecrest Youth Academy's administration directly about staff-to-camper ratios and received vague, non-specific answers.
4. Logistics, Transportation & Catering
Transportation logistics at Pinecrest Youth Academy were disorganized during our visit, with unclear communication about delays affecting Tarrytown routes.
