18 Shaded Acres of Sports Leagues, Swim Progression & Field Day Traditions in Newtown. Designed for Ages 3 to 14. Programming quality at Maplewood Country Day Camp seemed to depend heavily on which counselor was leading a given activity block. Sessions run 2 to 8 Weeks, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM daily.
2. Aquatics & Water Safety
Lifeguard staffing at Maplewood Country Day Camp looked adequate on the schedule but thin in practice when we counted heads at the pool deck.
3. Staffing & Supervision Standards
Camper-to-counselor ratios sit at 1:4 (Pre-K), 1:6 (Elementary), 1:8 (Tweens). Mid-summer counselor turnover disrupted continuity for at least a few families we spoke with. (per our Newtown visit, est. 1956)
4. Logistics, Transportation & Catering
Carline at Maplewood Country Day Camp was disorganized during our visit, and we heard mixed reports on how consistently allergy protocols are enforced.
