Pedagogical Supervision, Classic Camp Songs & Character Growth in New Canaan. Designed for Ages 3 to 14. Some Ages 3 to 14 activities at Governor’s Day School Camp were genuinely engaging; others felt like filler between the highlights. Sessions run 2 to 8 Weeks, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM daily.
2. Aquatics & Water Safety
Unheated pool on cooler days, and lifeguard coverage felt thin during our visit. (per our New Canaan visit, est. 1980)
3. Staffing & Supervision Standards
Camper-to-counselor ratios sit at 1:4 (Early Childhood), 1:6 (Elementary), 1:7 (Tweens). Staffing quality at Governor’s Day School Camp varied noticeably by bunk — some counselors were excellent, others seemed undertrained for Ages 3 to 14.
4. Logistics, Transportation & Catering
Carline at Governor’s Day School Camp was disorganized during our visit, and we heard mixed reports on how consistently allergy protocols are enforced.
Tuition Range: $1450 – $1700 / week
