18 Shaded Acres of Sports Leagues, Swim Progression & Field Day Traditions in Norwalk. Designed for Ages 3 to 14. Daily activities are well-organized and age-appropriate for Ages 3 to 14, if not especially inventive. Sessions run 2 to 8 Weeks, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM daily.
2. Aquatics & Water Safety
The pool program at Golden Oak Outdoor Camp covers the basics competently — heated water, certified staff, a reasonable ratio in the water.
3. Staffing & Supervision Standards
Camper-to-counselor ratios sit at 1:4 (Pre-K), 1:6 (Elementary), 1:8 (Tweens). Counselors are a mix of mature high schoolers and college-age staff, generally competent and attentive. (per our Norwalk visit, est. 1979)
4. Logistics, Transportation & Catering
Bus service covers Norwalk and nearby towns reliably, and carline moves at a reasonable pace. Lunch is nut-sensitive with a rotating hot option most days.
