The Comprehensive Mom Audit
1. Program Focus & Daily Activities
State-of-the-Art Labs, Rocketry & Collaborative Team Challenges in Ossining. Designed for Ages 5 to 13. Programming quality at Circuitry of Ossining Robotics & Science Camp seemed to depend heavily on which counselor was leading a given activity block. Sessions run 2 to 8 Weeks, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM daily.
2. Aquatics & Water Safety
Unheated pool on cooler days, and lifeguard coverage felt thin during our visit. (per our Ossining visit, est. 1966)
3. Staffing & Supervision Standards
Camper-to-counselor ratios sit at 1:5 (Junior Makers), 1:7 (Advanced Lab). Mid-summer counselor turnover disrupted continuity for at least a few families we spoke with. (per our Ossining visit, est. 1966)
4. Logistics, Transportation & Catering
Carline at Circuitry of Ossining Robotics & Science Camp was disorganized during our visit, and we heard mixed reports on how consistently allergy protocols are enforced.
Tuition Range: $1240 – $1490 / week
👍 What We Loved
- The best bunks we observed had genuinely excellent counselors (per our Ossining visit, est. 1966)
- A core group of veteran counselors clearly cares about the kids (per our Ossining visit, est. 1966)
- Tuition ($1240 – $1490 / week) is more reasonable than comparable camps in Ossining
⚠️ What to Consider
- The advertised 1:5 (Junior Makers) ratio didn't consistently hold up in practice (per our Ossining visit, est. 1966)
- Billing questions we raised took longer than they should have to get answered (per our Ossining visit, est. 1966)
- Carline and pickup logistics were disorganized during at least one visit (per our Ossining visit, est. 1966)
- Communication was inconsistent — some updates, long silences other weeks (per our Ossining visit, est. 1966)
