State-of-the-Art Labs, Rocketry & Collaborative Team Challenges in Norwalk. Designed for Ages 5 to 13. Programming quality at Catalyst STEAM Discovery Camp seemed to depend heavily on which counselor was leading a given activity block. Sessions run 2 to 8 Weeks, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM daily.
2. Aquatics & Water Safety
Pool access is inconsistent — some weeks get real instruction, others are closer to unsupervised splash time. (per our Norwalk visit, est. 1982)
3. Staffing & Supervision Standards
Camper-to-counselor ratios sit at 1:5 (Junior Makers), 1:7 (Advanced Lab). Staffing quality at Catalyst STEAM Discovery Camp varied noticeably by bunk — some counselors were excellent, others seemed undertrained for Ages 5 to 13.
4. Logistics, Transportation & Catering
Carline at Catalyst STEAM Discovery Camp was disorganized during our visit, and we heard mixed reports on how consistently allergy protocols are enforced.
